Ariana Grande Fans Not Happy with Pharrell's Work on 'Sweetener' as Savage Backlash Takes Over TwitterThe “Happy” singer produced six songs on the 15-track album and sings on one, but Grande’s fans just aren’t having it. Sure, he’s got some defenders out there, but majority rule is that Pharrell “ruined” the album, which garnered unflattering descriptions including “bland” and “a mess.”

“Pharrell please stop being inspired by the sounds of Samsung dishwashers,” one listener tweeted, topping the list of our favorite savage AF reactions to the album.

Grande’s fans seemed to very much prefer the tracks produced by Max Martin and Ilya, who worked on her 2016 album “Dangerous Woman,” and hoped Pharrell’s unsatisfactory work on “Sweetener” would discourage of pop divas from collaborating with him.

Pharrell’s production is just so bland. Him and Ariana are not a match. She should’ve just let Max Martin do this entire project.

Good morning to everyone except for Pharrell who absolutely ruined Sweetener.

Ari what the fuck? You give us a masterpiece that is Dangerous Woman and release this shit? WHERE ARE THE VOCALS? I am so upset. Pharrell should’ve just sat there and ate his food. pic.twitter.com/yETAhQy9Fk

If Sweetener has taught me anything, it’s that she should never ever work with Pharrell again.. pic.twitter.com/Su4tSsD8rK

I completely blame @Pharrell for sweetener failure. Ariana had no contributions in making and producing the whole album. She just sings the songs. So we cannot blame her.
Pop girls, don’t let touch your songs or albums. Take note 📝

But in all fairness, some people DID dig his work.

after 3 entire rotations, ima let sweetener breathe for the night before i OD. final thoughts; it was a fresh new sound that suited her perfectly, pharrell did an amazing job producing it, all bops n her vocals were powerful. overall 10/10 album that truly deserves a grammy 🍬💞

stans are just gonna have to deal with this album not being predominantly pop, a lot of pharrell’s stuff is gonna have an r&b flare to it… and i’m happy pic.twitter.com/WAlYf479Ce
