Arnold Schwarzenegger feels good after heart surgery
Arnold Schwarzenegger is sharing another health update.
On Thursday, April 12, 2018, the Terminator star took to Twitter to thank his fans for their support and to let them know that he’s feeling “good” as he recovers after undergoing emergency open-heart surgery in late March.
“Thank you so much for all your wishes and for all the cards and the phone calls and the emails and the texts and all this kind of stuff that I got from around the world,” he said in a short video, which he captioned with, “Thank you all for caring. We are moving forward!”
Schwarzenegger added, “I really appreciate that very much and you’re very kind. I just wanted you to know that I’m feeling much better. I can’t say — even with my positive attitude — that I’m great, because I’m not great yet. Great is a totally different level. But I’m good. I feel good.”
“I’m here at the chess board, playing a little bit of chess here, refreshing my mind and my memory a little bit,” he concluded, as the camera panned to the game of chess he had been enjoying at his home. “And we move forward.”

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Schwarzenegger experienced complications during a planned catheter valve replacement procedure on Thursday, March 29, in Los Angeles. This forced doctors to perform emergency open-heart surgery. The operation, which lasted several hours, successfully replaced a pulmonic valve that had been originally placed in 1997 due to a congenital heart defect.
The following day, his spokesperson, Daniel Ketchell, revealed that the former Governor of California was awake and in stable condition. “It’s true: I’m back!” the 70-year-old actor tweeted the following Monday. “I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one — but guess what? I woke up, and that’s something to be thankful for. Thank you to the doctors & nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages.”
Since then, Schwarzenegger and his spokesperson have regularly shared updates on his recovery at home.
