Bravo’s Andy Cohen, RHONJ star Melissa Gorga face $30 million lawsuit
The two celebrities are being sued.
Page Six reports that Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen and Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Melissa Gorga have been hit with a lawsuit for a whopping $30 million. The suit was filed by Gorga’s former business partner, Jackie Beard Robinson. According to Robinson, who ran clothing boutique Envy with Gorga, the two stars made her look real bad on national television.
In the suit, Robinson said she and Gorga ended their professional relationship in December 2016, accusing Gorga of “misappropriating over $37,000 from Envy without authorization.” On Jan. 1, 2017, Robinson claimed she went to Envy to gather her things in “broad daylight.” However, Gorga—and RHONJ, according to The Blast—reportedly described Robinson’s leaving quite differently, saying Robinson had “snuck into Envy in the middle of the night and stole clothing.”
Gorga’s version of events was apparently told on Cohen’s hit Bravo talk show. “Wow, so, that lady wound up kinda ripping you off?” Cohen asked Gorga, to which she said, “Yes.”
Robinson reportedly believes that Gorga and Cohen’s exchange made her out to look like a “felon.” She’s suing the two stars, as well as NBCUniversal and RHONJ production exec Dorothy Toran, for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
While we wait for Cohen and Gorga to comment on the lawsuit, read up on why Real Housewives is totally fake.
