Meek Mill Album Expected To Sell Close To 200k First Week

Meek Mill’s new album, Championship’s is expected to sell an impressive number of units in its first week.

The album was released on Friday and featured appearances from MMG boss, Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Cardi B, Drake, Future, Young Thug, and others.

According to HDD, the album is predicting to move anywhere between 175-200k units. Between 24k and 27k will be from pure sales. His last album Wins & Losses sold just over 100k.

The numbers will be great for Meek, who has been using his platform to speak out about criminal justice reform, one of the running themes on his album, even penning an op-ed for the New York Times.

“They should introduce legislation that allows people on probation to earn a reduction in probation time for good behavior so that entire swaths of people aren’t spending the majority of their adult lives on probation as I did,” Meek wrote.

“I am choosing to see my situation in a different light, to see that I’m incredibly fortunate. A higher power has put me in a position to help fix this — to help clean up this persistent stain on our society,” he added.
